How a chaotic creative studio settled into “set it and forget it” rent and maintenance

When “email over here, text over there” becomes a full-time job

City Limits Studios isn’t a typical property. It’s a creative hub in Nashville with studios, suites, and people making things at all hours—music, photo, video, the whole vibe.

Mitch Goudy set out to build a community that creates, not to chase rent payments. However, when they took over the building, the operation felt like a junk drawer that kept spilling open.

“You’ve got an email over here, a text over here, and an unanswered maintenance request here. It was just chaotic.”

The mess threatened the whole business. If tenants were constantly wondering whether they had paid, they couldn’t focus on their creative work.

“I came across DoorLoop’s YouTube, and they had a lot of helpful videos. I ended up watching those right before we took over the building.”
